Subpoenas lost again? As an attorney you know that time is of the essence when planning your case. However, many times the process is slowed or stalled because subpoenas cannot be served. There are many reasons for this, but most of the time the problem lies in the method of service.
In most counties, the sheriff’s office will serve civil process for a small fee. They make no guarantees and will attempt to serve the subject between 8am and 5pm. The process can take weeks or longer and during that time many subpoenas are misplaced and have to be reissued. If your subject is hiding they simply won’t answer the door and the officer will leave. He may not make another attempt for a week or more. Meanwhile your clients are impatient and wondering what the holdup is.
Walton Investigations offers professional service of civil process to our clients in the legal community. Our discreet, non-uniformed process servers are specifically trained to locate your subjects and serve them quickly. As a licensed P.I. firm, we have access to DMV records, criminal histories and SSN information, all of which help us to locate your subject and serve them within DAYS not WEEKS. We also have contacts in all 50 states should you need service elsewhere.
The process is simple. We can pick up your subpoenas in Guilford or surrounding counties or you can Fed Ex them to us. The fees are as follows: $100.00 for three attempts at various times. We will serve up to three subpoenas at once to the same address for the stated $100.00 fee. The fee includes all research necessary to affect the service. Upon completion of service, we will complete the return of service form and return it to your office or if you like, for an additional $5.00 we can file it for you at the office of the Guilford County Clerk of Court. We can also file your returns in other counties. Your office will be notified by telephone, fax or e-mail as soon as service is completed, so that you can proceed with your case and minimize delays.
